Robert Louis Stevenson was born on 13 November 1850, in Edinburgh, Scotland into a Presbyterian family. As a cherished only son, but of a fragile healt, he spent much of his childhool in bed and did not go to school very much which had the consequence of helping him to develop a vivid imagination.
